Our Czech-tacular stand at EXPO

OneStage welcomes John Tregellas from The Prague Concert Co. to join us at stand E8, Music Education EXPO from 8-9th February 2017.  John’s intimate knowledge of Slovakia and The Czech Republic and his rewarding approach to bringing in audiences to concerts means that The Prague Concert Co. is OneStage’s only partner in this part of Central Europe.  We have been working successfully together for over 17 years, have run two Directors’ Fam Trips to Western Bohemia and Prague and continue to develop and expand on opportunities in these regions for British music groups. In 2016, OneStage had a total of 32 performances throughout Slovakia, The Czech Republic and Vienna (Austria).

This is your chance to find out more about what kind of musical experience your ensembles can savour in Slovakia or The Czech Republic . Explore one of the main cities, or embark on a voyage of discovery “off the beaten track” to lesser known towns and villages in Central Slovakia or Eastern or Southern Moravia. This prime Central European location is the perfect base to continue your musical journey in to Austria, Poland, Germany or Hungary.

To get a feel for some of the stunning venues; from cathedral and chapel choirs to smaller chamber ensembles and large symphony orchestras. Some of the highlights from 2016 in THE CZECH REPUBLIC were at:

The Korunni Chapel

The Czech National Museum of Music

Březnice Castle Courtyard

…and in SLOVAKIA at:

The Basilica of St. Nicolas in Trnava

The German Church in Banská Štiavnica

The Franciscan Church in Bratislava

and the courtyard in Nitra . . . as well as many other amazing performances throughout these two incredible countries.

You can call or email Julian or Sonia to fix up an appointment or simply drop by our stand. There will be lots of Czech-themed prizes on our stand and OneStage’s latest Czech & Slovak-themed newsletter. Come and speak to OneStage and The Prague Concert Co. specifically about your music groups.

We look forward to meeting you very soon.

Let’s go to Lisbon

Happy New Year to you all! 2017 is going to be exciting here at OneStage with inspiring places to visit and great Festivals to work with.

OneStage is delighted to announce that our first British ensemble (from south London) will be taking part in Lisbon Music Fest in July 2017. We look forward to working with the festival organisers and developing our tours to this beautiful Portuguese city. The Festival, established in 2014, runs from the beginning of July to the beginning of August incorporating over thirty concerts per season with a selection of Portuguese and International Orchestras. Venues are spread at many outstanding locations (both outdoor and indoor) in Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, Coimbra, Peniche, Evora.

Lisbon, with a tangible mixture or Roman, Arabic, Spanish, Moorish, Baroque and Modern Architectures has so much to offer. It has one of the warmest climates in the Mediterranean; the Trams (which can be compared to San Francisco’s, as the town in built on seven Hills); the Ascensor de Santa Justa street elevator, which connects two parts of the city by taking passengers from Baixa to the Chiado district (45metres up); The iconic Belem Tower on the banks of the Tagus River; the Pastel de Nata (the Portuguese equivalent to the British custard tart and voted one of the best in the world), and of course, its strong musical heritage – the Fado which is still played all over the city, indoors and out. Visit the Fado Museum where you can take part in one of their many workshops, including how to sing Fado.

Past Festivals have featured ensembles such as The Symphony Orchestra from Lisbon’s Music School, Mayo Youth Orchestra from Ireland, Winterthürer Jugend Sinfonie Orchester from Switzerland, The National Youth Orchestra of Canada and The National Youth Orchestra of Spain. Past programmes and festival information can be found on the festival’s website:

Direct flights are available with TAP or BA, Easyjet and Ryanair from the UK to Lisbon.

If you are looking for something special for your enemble and want to be part of this exciting musical experience, then contact OneStage for more information.
