On the 6th – 9th April, Leo and Sarah from OneStage accompanied nine musical directors from music services, schools and universities on a four day visit to Bonn and the Rhineland, Germany.

"What a fun way to take the stress out of planning a music tour! I highly recommend a familiarisation trip if you get the chance. Not only does it allow you to see a choice of venues and accommodation, and consider their practicalities for your school, it also gives you face to face time with OneStage. I found this really useful as it gave me the chance to get to know the reps and start the planning my tour in a relaxed atmosphere where l could also bounce ideas off other music professionals. OneStage were very organised throughout and we got to see lots of this fantastic and beautiful region of Germany in a short space of time. I especially liked the variety the area has to offer from the bustle of the city to the beauty of the Rhine valley and surrounding countryside, from exquisite old churches to modern spacious concert halls. It has a real charm and was worth taking the time to go. We were well looked after from start to finish, OneStage paid great attention to detail and nothing was too much trouble. l’m really looking forward to working with them to create a memorable musical experience for my students."
We wanted to show off the selection of accommodations and venues we have available in this region to all types of ensembles. The region has a fantastic variety of concert venues including large churches, parish churches, spa halls and gardens, town squares, beer gardens and concert halls.
We travelled from Bonn down to Rüdesheim and along the way were able to experience some potential excursions such as seeing Beethoven’s House (currently closed until 2020), an authentic beer cellar in Bonn, the Drachenfels cog railway, the beautiful market square in Linz am Rhein, a boat trip on the Rhine and wine tasting in Rüdesheim.
In 2020 the city of Bonn will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven and OneStage will be promoting a series of concerts to coincide with our 20th anniversary.
